Known for his professional and friendly manner, Kenneth Ludwig, President and Creative Director, has over 20 years of experience and has developed a chic and affordable home furnishings showroom in the exclusive Chicago Merchandise Mart.  Ken received his Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design at Colorado State University.  Since the showroom's opening in 2000, Ken has created one of the fastest-growing, full service home furnishings showrooms in the interior design and lifestyle retailers industry.  On most days, Ken can be seen consulting with Chicago’s leading interior designers on exciting projects and lending his unlimited support, advice, & expertise to clients.

Mimi Marcucci has been with the company for five years.  At the showroom, Mimi oversees all day-to-day operations as well as managing each of our vendor accounts.  Previously, Mimi, owned and operated “The Catering Company” which served all of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs with exquisite food and exciting events.

Showroom Sales

Mildred Jordan, an experienced accessory & home furnishings salesperson joined Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings, Ltd. in the summer of '08.  Her past experience with other Merchandise Mart showrooms has proven wildly successful in her operation of our full time sample sale showroom.  Her warm demeanor and friendly smile welcomes designers & retailers in our showrooms daily.

04/2000: Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings, Ltd. debuts.  After 12 years as sales manager for a notable showroom, also in the Merchandise Mart, Kenneth Ludwig decided it was time to make his own mark on the industry.  Ludwig’s dream of bringing stunning designs & products at popular price points to upscale retail boutiques and interior designers was realized when he opened his doors in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart in Suite 1590.  Starting as a gift & home line package to retailers, the 1,800-square-foot showroom specialized in design-savvy lines quickly caught the attention of Midwest retailers and Chicago designers alike.  The Evolution of Interior Elegance has begun!

01/2006: Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings, Ltd. more than doubled its showroom space to 4,200 sq. feet in Suites 1590 & 1595.  The expansion allowed the company & showroom to increase its home furnishings offerings to benefit lifestyle stores and the whole interior design trade.  As an interior designer himself, Ludwig began catering to designers on a daily basis in the showroom when others thought it was a "time consuming" task and/or "a waste of time".  This was the start of setting Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings apart from other showrooms in the gift & home industry.

01/2007: Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings, Ltd. adds a third showroom to the 15th floor.  With interior designers now being the core part of the showroom business, the showroom’s home products dominate the floor.  Designers & home furnishing retailers make the KLHF showroom a “must-see” because of its fabulous & extensive collections of unique decorative accessories, furniture, lighting, textiles, area rugs and wall art.

07/2007: Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings, Ltd. was proud to unveil its newest showroom all now under one roof at the new Market Square Chicago Floor in suite # 1510, just off of The Merchandise Mart’s Wells Street elevators.  The dramatically expanded lifestyle retailer and interior design showcase is set in a stunning 10,000-square foot space with natural light and open walkways.  Ludwig’s upholstery, case goods, wall décor and lighting collections are merchandised in a chic, boutique like setting.  Contrary to others closing their showrooms in Chicago at this time, Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings is busy day in and day out.  The showroom is the place to visit when in Chicago.

07/2008: Continuing with even more extensive marketing, Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings, Ltd. returned to the July 2008 Chicago Gift & Home Market’s temporary floor this year with a stunning series of booths in the Urban Chic area. Each of the 10 booths featured great product from lines such as Sunpan Imports, Charles Carol Designs, Amore Designs, Notre Monde & Olivia Riegel, just to name a few.  Drawing lots of attention & comments heard at the show were, "Wow, Kenneth keeps doing & finding the most amazing things.  What a source of inspiration he is for our business!"

01/2009: As the industry shifts to a concentrated focus on the design trade, Kenneth Ludwig Home Furnishings, Ltd. jumps in head first to embrace joining "The Merchandise Mart’s Design Center Division".  The transition will allow Ludwig to expand his furniture, lighting, wall décor and textile collections to the nation’s top designers & design firms.  New collections being showcased currently at the showroom include: Wallteriors- hand made wallpapers, The Sliding Door Company- closet & window treatments, and Colori Paint– eco friendly paint & finishes.  Daily traffic, even in this economy, is strong with designers resourcing the latest trends and styles.
